"Super Easy" Chocolate Fudge

"Super Easy" Chocolate Fudge Makes 64, 1” squares (2.2 lbs (1 kg) 3 cups (750 mL) semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 can (300 mL) Regular Eagle Brand sweeten condensed milk 2 tsp (10 mL) vanilla extract 1/2 cup (125 mL) chopped nuts Melt chocolate chips with Eagle Brand milk on low heat. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and nuts. Spread evenly in parchment paper-lined 8-inch (20 cm) square pan. Chill 4 hours or until firm. Remove from pan and cut into squares

Holiday Teddy Grams 1/2 cup of butter 2/3 cup sugar 1 egg 2T molasses 2 cup of flour 1/2 t cinnamon 1/4 salt -in a large bowl beat together butter and sugar until light and fluffy -stir in egg molasses and the rest of the dry ingredients mixing until combined -heat oven 350 roll out dough 1/4" cut with your favourite cutters place on a ungreased cookie sheet bake 8 minutes remove to a wire rack and cool completely before decorating makes 24 cookies

Cinnamon Rolls

This recipe is a family favorite for 17 years now you"ll never buy bakery again Cinnamon Rolls 2 cups flour 4tsp baking powder ½ tsp salt 1 TBSP sugar ½ cup margarine 1 egg in a 1 cup measure topped up to the 3/4 mark with milk. 1 tsp vanilla pre-heat oven 400 combine all dry ingredients together in a large mixing bowl cut in the margarine pour in wet ingredients stir until incorporated kneed lightly adding flour if needed roll out into a 10 "x13 " spread 1/4 cup soft butter over top. In a small bowl mix ½ cup brown sugar and 2 Tsp cinnamon sprinkle evenly over butter roll up cut each ½ "thick place in a cake pan and bake for 12 to 15 minutes cool and top with an icing sugar glaze. Icing Sugar Glaze 2 tablespoons milk, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla, lemon or other extract, 1 cup icing sugar Stir the liquid into the sugar, adding more, a few drops at a time, as needed. The icing is of the proper consistency when it coats the spoon.

Oatmeal Cookies

This is my Hubby's favourite cookie 1 cup butter, softened 1 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup white sugar 2 eggs 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon salt 3 cups quick cooking oats Preheat the oven to 350 F . In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon; stir into the creamed mixture. Mix in oats until just blended. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheets. Cookies should be at least 2 inches apart. Bake for about 8-10 minutes in the preheated oven. Cool cookies on a wire rack.

TRADITIONAL SCOTCH COOKIES

TRADITIONAL SCOTCH COOKIES 1/2 cup cornstarch. 1 cup flour. 1/2 cup icing sugar. 3/4 cup butter, softened. Sift together cornstarch, icing sugar and flour. With large spoon, thoroughly blend in butter. Work with hands until soft, smooth dough forms. If necessary, refrigerate 1 hour or until easy to handle. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness; cut into shapes with cookie cutters. Decorate with candied cherries, coloured sprinkles or Icing, if desired. Bake in 300°F (150°C) oven 10-15 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Remove and cool completely on wire rack. Store in tightly covered container. Yield: About 2 dozen cookies.

Nana's Banana Bread

Nana's Banana Bread Pre heat oven 350 f sift together 2 cups flour 1/2 cup granulated sugar 3 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt Beat together1 egg 3/4 cup milk 1/4 cup vegetable oil 3 mashed ripe bananas Add liquid to dry ingredients and beat for 30 seconds [batter will be lumpy]turn into pan bake in oven 50-60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean.

Birthday Cupcakes

2 cups all purpose flour 1 1/2 cups sugar 3 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 4 egg whites from large eggs 1/2 cup shortening 1 cup 2% milk 2 large eggs 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla Preheat oven to 325 f. Line cupcake pans with paper liners. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, shortening, milk and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Mix at low speed for 2 minutes. Scrape bowl. Add egg whites and mix at high speed until fluffy and smooth, approximately 2 minutes. Fill liners 2/3 full of batter. Do not overfill. Bake 15 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes in pans then remove from pan, and place on wire racks to cool completely. Frost and decorate as desired. Carrot Muffins

Peel and finely grate 1 cup carrots and set aside Preheat oven 350, and line muffin pan In a medium sized bowl combine dry ingredients, 1 1/2 cups of flour 2teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg 1/2 cup brown sugar In a large bowl beat together 1 egg 1/2 cup milk 1/3 cup vegetable oil stir dry ingredients into wet, stir just until moist, fold in carrots, fill tins 2/3 full. bake for 20 minutes

Gingersnaps

3/4 cup shortening. 1 cup brown sugar. 1 beaten egg. 1/4 cup molasses. 2 cups flour. 1/4 tsp salt. 2 tspbaking soda. 1 tsp cinnamon. 1 tsp clove. 1/2 tsp ginger. Cream shortening and sugar. Add molasses and egg. Stir in sifted four, salt and soda, cinnamon, clove and ginger. Dough will be soft and a little sticky, roll into walnut-sized balls and roll in sugar. Place on Cookie sheet and press down with fork bake at 350 for 7-8 minutes.

Caramel Apples

WASH and dry 5 apples thoroughly. Insert stick into stem end of each apple. HEAT 50 unwrapped KRAFT Caramels and 2 Tbsp. water in large microwave safe bowl microwave on high for 3.5 minutes, remove from stir until caramels are melted and smooth. DIP apples into melted caramel, spooning caramel over apples to coat. Allow excess caramel to drip off, scraping bottom if necessary, and decorate as desired. Place on greased waxed paper; let stand about 15 min. or until caramel sets. Makes 5.

Soft Pretzels

I had the girls over for a baking day we made Soft Pretzels one of our all time favourites. This is Kelli's recipe, She had this one from her high school days. I hope you give this one a try you won't be disappointed Soft Pretzels 3 3/4 cups all purpose flour 1 envelope instant yeast 1 1/2 cup warm water (130 F) 4 t sugar1 t salt 3 T baking soda 1 T sea salt In a large bowl combine 1 3/4 cup flour 1T sugar 1t table salt 1 pkg yeast Add the warm water, mix well. Stir in about 1 1/2 cup of flour until dough forms a ball and is easy to handle. Knead for about 5 minutes Place dough in an ungreased bowl, cover and let rise for about 1/2 an hour. Punch down and cut into 6 equal size pieces. Roll each piece to form a long rope about 20" to 24" long form into a pretzel shape and lay it on a lightly floured surface. The Best Apple Crisp Ever. pre heat oven 350. peel and slice thinly, 5 apples. in a bowl combine 1/2 cup sugar. 2T. Corn starch. 1t. Cinnamon. toss together in a large bowl until apples are evenly coated. place in a 9x9 pan. In the same bowl just used.mix together topping. 1/2 cup flour. 1/2 cup lightly packed brown. sugar. 1 t.cinnamon. cut in 1/2 cup soften butter until it resemble pea size pieces incorporate 1 cup quick cooking oatmeal. place this mixture over apples bake in oven 20 minutes or until golden and apples are tender.

Mustard Pickles The recipe is an old Prince Edward Island favourite 4 cups diced onions 8 cucumbers 1 medium cauliflower 2 medium sweet red peppers (diced) 3 1/2 cups sugar 1/2 cup flour 1 1/2 teaspoons turmeric 3 Tablespoons dry mustard 1 teaspoon ginger 2 1/2 cups vinegar Peel and cut onions into medium sized pieces. Peel cucumbers, remove seeds and centres. Cut to desired size. If cucumbers are green and not too ripe, skin may be left on. Separate cauliflower into small flowerets. Dice red peppers. Make a brine to cover vegetables of 1/2 cup coarse salt to 1 quart water. Add a pinch of alum and let stand overnight (or for 8 hours). Then Drain vegetables and prepare sauce. in a large bowl mix sauce dry ingredients together until there are no lumps in a large stockpot add the vinegar and 2 cups hot water along with the dry ingredients allow to boil for 5 minutes stirring constantly, Then ,to the sauce add the vegetables bring to a boil, and boil for an additional 5 minutes stirring co...

PIZZA best recipe ever and fast... Dough 1 1/2 cups flour+ 1cup to be used in the kneading of the dough. 1teaspoon salt. 1 pkg fast acting yeast. 1 Tablespoon sugar. 1 cup hot water 130 f. 1/4 cup oil. Mix first 4 ingredients in a bowl. mix together water and oil. pour into bowl and mixing together as you add flour as needed. kneed at least forty times on a floured surface. let rest for 15 minutes then spread dough on to the pan. Add your favourite sauce top with meats cheese then add the vegetables. bake in a 400 f. oven for 20 minutes. this recipe makes enough dough for 2 pizzas or you can do like I do and use the second dough and make cinnamon sticks. Cinnamon sticks 1/4 cup soft butter. 1 teaspoon cinnamon. 1 Tablespoon sugar. mix together in a bowl and spread over dough bake in a 400f. oven for about 12 minutes.
