Gingersnaps



3/4 cup shortening.
1 cup brown sugar.
1 beaten egg.

1/4 cup molasses.





2 cups flour.
1/4 tsp salt.
2 tspbaking soda.
1 tsp cinnamon.
1 tsp clove.
1/2 tsp ginger.



Cream shortening and sugar. Add molasses and egg. Stir in sifted four, salt and soda, cinnamon, clove and ginger. Dough will be soft and a little sticky, roll into walnut-sized balls and roll in sugar.
Place on Cookie sheet and press down with fork bake at 350 for 7-8 minutes.
